Feb 14 Sunday Valentine's Day Our 39th wedding anniversary. Four of us attended the Catholic worship service next to our dorms. The sanctuary fill from the back forward, and is packed by 10-15 minutes into the service, including 2 wandering dogs. The theme of the service was medical care and healing. During the service, I thought what a great idea would have been to bless the IHS team next door as we begin our mission. The delayed team members are all still coming. A group of 3 pharm students won't get to Honduras until late Monday evening. So, people are being shuffled to put these later arrivals on nearby teams, and move others to teams that absolutely must go on Monday morning. Lunch was shish-kabobs of beef and chicken with re-fried beans, rice, and cantaloupe. In the afternoon, John Kirckof, another ham, and I put up a second antenna for voice nets and e-mail. With two antennas, we can evaluate them side by side. We also installed the radio repeater which uses an antenna already on the Catholic FM radio tower. The final project was helping the team engineer, Grant, to rebuild a pitcher pump by replacing the leather seal using the upper sole of a leather shoe! We have water from that pump again. Tonight, we who are moving on, pack up to be ready to leave early morning. One team by boat, another by bush plane, and our team by truck. Dave
