Pranza Honduras Wednesday, 24 Feb, 2010 Houser The clinic closed at noon today, so we can pack and be ready to load the truck Thursday morning. Close to noon was a give-a-way session. The school building was a popular place to be. We handed out beany babies, small rubber balls, solar flashlights from Fifty Lanterns Intnl, baby clothes. Patients served: 215 Dental: 476 teeth extracted, 160 fluorides, 41 sutures, 61 Rx 781 Medical: 427 adults, 354 peds. 2732 Pharmacy: 1953 Rx, 779 vitamins 283 eyeglasses We estimate the cost / patient served was about $12.00 if we add up team fees and team member travel costs. This average would have been half as much with a smaller team, and with more patients. Our patient load was unusually light this year. Supper was mashed potatoes with MN canned beef and gravy. Um Good. After supper, the villages entertained us with music and dancing.
