The Mayland Amateur Radio Club, Inc. analog repeater system consists of:
1) WOODY’S KNOB UHF ANALOG REPEATER (KK4MAR) – OPERATIONAL(Utility power with backup generator) UHF 70 cm repeater on Woody’s Knob at 4200′ in the South end of Mitchell County, NC. RF Hub repeater for Iowa Hill and Locust Knob VHF repeaters.
2) IOWA HILL VHF ANALOG REPEATER (KK4MAR) – OPERATIONAL, COMPRISED (100% Solar) VHF 2 meter repeater on Iowa Hill, overlooking the Town of Spruce Pine, NC. RF Link from this location the hub repeater on Woody’s Knob is a co-located 70 cm radio under the TX/RX control of the 2 meter repeater at this site. The previous EchoLink node is has been relocated to locust Knob Repeater . This repeater is operating with a compromised antenna and solar system due to the Storm Helene
3) LOCUST VHF KNOB ANALOG REPEATER (KK4MAR) – OPERATIONAL (Utility power with backup generator) VHF 2 meter repeater located on Locust Knob in the North end of Mitchell County, NC. RF Link from this location to Woody’s Knob hub repeater is a co-located 70 cm radio under the TX/RX control of the 2 meter repeater at this site. NOTE: At the present time there is a EchoLink Node active on Locust Knob under the call KK4MAR-R.
4) WOODY’S KNOB DMR REPEATER (KQ4KDX) – OPERATIONAL UHF DMR Digital repeater located in the South end of Mitchell County, NC This repeater is connected to the NC PRN network via the Internet. It is one of 18 DMR repeaters in the Western North Carolina that are capable of being linked “at will” forming the Western Branch AUXCOMM net as required and in support of NC Emergency Management. Also linked weekly (see schedule below) for Western NC Regional Net).

5) PHILLIPS KNOB DMR REPEATER (KK4MAR) – OPERATIONAL UHF DMR Digital repeater is located overlooking the town of Burnsville, Yancey County, NC. This repeater is connected to the NC PRN network via the Internet. It is one of 18 DMR repeaters in the Western Section of NC that are capable of being linked “at Will” forming the Western Branch AUXCOMM net as needed and in support of NC Emergency Management. It is also linked weekly (See schedule below for Western NC Regional Net).
NOTE: All 3 Analog repeaters are linked via RF, full time, unless there is a malfunction in the system. If you activate any one of the three, you will activate all of them.
